Symplified is an access management system for the cloud. It unifies different user accounts and SaaS applications in one customisable portal. Because it is also hosted on the cloud, it presents itself as an inexpensive but still secure alternative to other access management systems.
The company was founded in 2005 and has recently passed several milestones. In 2010, Symplified partnered with Amazon and it is now the only provider of cloud access systems in all Amazon services. This year, the identity software reached the one million licensed users mark and secured a $9.2m second round of investment. Allegis Capital and Granite Ventures are the main investors, who had already put $6m in a series A round in 2008.
The company’s performance on the SI score mirrors its latest successes:
Team founders have a background in security and identity systems, since the executive team came from Securant ClearTrust. The company was acquired by RSA Security for $140m. Eric Olden (CEO), Darren Platt (CTO), Jonti McLaren (COO) are the founders, joined by a team of 23 people.
